Woody Allen
American film director, actor-comedian, four-time winner of the Academy Award, writer, author of numerous short stories and plays.
Biography
Woody Allen is a pseudonym coined by a scrawny Jewish boy from Brooklyn, Allan Konigsberg, in the early 1950s.
At that time, he wrote jokes for the humorous sections of newspapers, and did this — as well as writing variety sketches and scripts for TV programs — for a long ten years.
In 1961, Allen first appeared on stage himself as a stand-up comedian. And although he joked that at dinner parties, comedians always sit at the children's table, as a stand-up artist, he was very successful.
The first success was inspired by woody Allen. He began to act in cameo roles in films and take up the revision of other people's scripts. But soon the guy realized that he himself is able to build a career and make films.
Since 1965, his meeting with cinema, the debut directorial comedy work "What's new, Pussy?"took place. And then the creative genius of Allen began to give out films on the mountain, often managing to make two films a year. I remember: "Casino Royale", "Bananas", "Grab the money and run" and other films. It seemed that somewhere in his frail body was hidden a perpetual motion machine, giving him irrepressible energy.
Allen, as a rule, is not only the director and screenwriter of his films, but also stars in them. Among the favorite topics of his films and numerous jokes are psychoanalysis and psychoanalysts, sex and his own Jewish roots. A special place in his work is occupied by the city of New York, in which the director lived all his life and which he sang in his best pictures.
One of the early and classic comedies of the famous Woody Allen, telling about the difficult love relationship between a stand-up comedian and an aspiring singer Annie.
